ACCESS ACCOMPLISHED FACULTY MEMBERS

In the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science, postdoctoral fellows work with leaders in their field to contribute to a body of knowledge that impacts our region, our country, and the international community.

As a postdoctoral fellow, you will have access to renowned and award-winning faculty members, who are recognized leaders in their field. If you are interested in working with one of our faculty members, please contact the faculty member, or email us.

Fellowships and Funding

In addition to Tri-Council Postdoctoral funding opportunities, you may be interested in applying for either a Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, or a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Postdoctoral fellows who are successful Killam or Banting recipients will also receive $5,000 per year from the Irving K. Barber Faculty of Science to support travel expenses, in addition to the Office of Research top-up and funding provided by the supervisor.

Human Resources Information

Postdoctoral fellows are individuals who have completed a doctoral degree and who are seeking the opportunity to train further in a particular area of research. Postdoctoral fellows at UBC can either be employees or trainees (award recipients), depending on the job description, level of direction, and nature of research grant.
